When shall we imitate more perfectly that dear Saviour who emptied himself? When shall we becomes so humble as to be “a reproach among men and an outcast among the people” [cf. Lk 1:25]? When shall we become like little babies clinging to the breast of Jesus, our Spouse, Father, and Protector? … When, oh when? Please ask the Lord to grant us this grace.
Saint Paul of the Cross
It is Your continual desire to associate and identify Yourself with Your creatures… How can I better satisfy Your desire than by keeping myself simply and lovingly turned toward You, so that You can reflect Your own image in me, as the sun is reflected through pure crystal?
Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity (1880–1906)
